Walkathon 09 - After Week 2

The second week of Walkathon ended at 9:30 PM on 29th March.... It was a long long weekend.... so lot of time to work for Walkathon...

The volunteers gave 4 days of their time this week for Walkathon... 

Inspite of the fact that it was the last week of the month.... & so called the month end.... when most of the people a stiff hands when its time to spend.... still when it comes to helping the needy... people in Bangalore have a good heart.... & they never hesitate to spend... 

The volunteers where able to raise an amount of Rs. 65000.... Three cheers for the great job done...

With this contribution the total collection has reached Rs. 1,57,000... 

This has increased the hopes and energy of the volunteers.... and they expect to get more the coming weeks.... 

There is another great news about the Walkathon 09 - it has a radio partner as well as a TV channel which will be covering the Walkathon 09.... Keep guessing... will let you all know the details in the next post... 

walkathon: Week 2, Day 2

27th March, the day of Ugadi... as it was a holiday for most of the people in Bangalore... As well as for the volunteers of the college...

However, a group of our volunteers decided to use the day for the noble cause of Walkathon... They decided to celebrate the festival working for the orphans who do not have sufficient to celebrate ...

They reached Safina Plaza at 2:00 PM... The day passed interacting with the people over there and sharing the thoughts... This went on with this till 8:00 PM....

At the end of the day they where able to raise a sum of Rs. 8125. They where happy that they where able to do some productive work for the deprived....

This has boosted their moral and they are looking forward for the next 2 days....

On behalf of all the students volunteers of our college, I would like to thank all the people who have a real kind and thoughtful heart for the others who do not have the required and are lacking love and affection every kid requires at this phase of the life...

Walkathon - The Second Week

After the long week of college/work, its a weekend once again. Added to this its three days of off at a stretch - as its Ugadi today...

As it was a holiday today, the student volunteers decided to dedicate their time on 26th March after college for the noble cause - Walkathon....

The classes for the day finished at 5:00 PM. Soon after that the students organized themselves in small groups and where ready to go. Every one was excited and energetic remembering the massive success of the Week - 1 of Walkathon... Everyone started for their designated destinations...

Thus, the second week of Walkathon started on 26th March (Thursday) at 6:30 PM....

As its was already evening the time was less... but the enthusiasm of the volunteers where high...

The concluded for the day about 9:30 PM... In just a short span of 3 hours they where able to collect a sum of Rs. 11,000... This marked the end of the day...

With the sweet memories of the incidences that took place that day, all the students volunteers returned back to their homes... They returned to their homes with the plans to return again with new energy, meet new people and make new FRIENDS....

The First week of Walkathon

The students have started to work for the Walkathon from 21st March.
They divided themselves in groups and went to all the major shopping points across Bangalore.
They interacted with many people in order to spread the word, bring social awareness and collect funds which will be used to help the orphans of "Sri Krishna Anatha Shishu Nivas"...




This a picture of the volunteers who went to Landmark (Forum Mall).

To mark the intensive level of response to from the public, the volunteers who where able to collect a sum of Rs. 92,000 in just two days from all points across Bangalore....

This has made the volunteers more enthusiastic on moving forward and arranging as much amount as possible to help the orphans....

They will be spending there week-ends and holidays working for this social cause...
It is nice to see that there are still people with kind hearts...
