WALKATHON
The Paradigm 2009 started on 15th April 2009 with the event called WALKATHON...
The function was inaugurated by the film star Prajwal Devraj....
And we where also joined by many corporates in order to make the events a success...
The children from Sri Krishna Anatha Shishu Nivas also joined us for the walk...

And the total amount collected for this social cause was ...
Rs. 4,21,505...
This is the part of the success story of Paradigm... In next few posts I will be telling you all about the remaining story of the event and a lot more pictures...

Sri Krishna Anatha Shishu Nivas
We have been talking about the Paradigm & Walkathon till now...
Today I am posting the information and pictures of the orphanage which we are working for...
Sri Krishna Anatha Shishu Nivas
Sri Krishna Anatha Shishu Nivas( Regd), is an initiative dedicated to the cause of bringing up orphaned children. They provide them with basic needs of living and education facilities. They believe in honing their skills and talents to ensure that they turn out to be responsible citizens of our country.
There are 53 orphans (32 boys and 21 girls) under their care. The orphanage receives a Govt. aid of Rs 8/- per day per child. However, it is not sufficient and the expenses on educating and nurturing them are borne by the organization itself with the help of benevolent donors.
Efforts are being made to improve the infrastructure of the orphanage by setting up of beds and cots, cupboards and furniture for which the organization requires funding.
The organization is headed by Professor T. Keshava Bhat (President), Sri M.U Kannaiah (Secretary). They hope to make a difference in the lives of those children who are deprived of parental love.

This is how the food is prepared using fire-wood.
These are the people who work to maintain the place and prepare the food for the children.

Walkathon 09 and BIG92.7FM
The fourth and the last week of Walkathon is going to start... from tomorrow...
Before the last week starts, I would like to share some of the memorable movements of the Walkathon...
As I already told you all, we have the Radio partners BIG92.7FM for both Paradigm & Walkathon.... Below are the pictures of our volunteers with the BIG FM RJ's....
RJ Shruthi & RJ Harsha can be seen in the picture with our volunteers at the Garuda Mall...
And one interesting fact is that the girl who is speaking to RJ Harsha in second picture is also Shruthi... So u can see Shruthi on both the sides of Harsha....

Walkathon09 - Week 3
Yet another week is over...
And we are moving close to the day of Walkathon and Paradigm....
As the day for the Walkathon is coming closer the enthusiasm of the volunteers is increasing....
A picture of our volunteers interacting with the people.
The people support for this noble cause is really appreciable... And so is the support from our college principal and the faculty of the institute...
This week to our volunteers visited different Malls and talked to many people about the concept of Walkathon.... The people appreciated our efforts and have stretched there hands forwards for help...
The two days of weekend went past really fast moving around and talking with people....
At the end of the week we where able to collect a sum of Rs. 68000..... With this the total collection has raised to Rs.2,25,000... Just from the various Malls across the city...
With just 9 days for the mega event and the day we all walk for the social cause the excitement of the volunteers is increasing day by day... The expectation for this week is high and we know that its not really hard we fulfill them with the support from the public...
As the time is moving forward the number of people getting associated with Walkathon is increasing... This makes us happy and in turn we will see to it that the children on whom Walkathon is focusing this year get some happiness in their lives...

ETHNIC DAY
The Ethnic Day - a function to remind people of their culture and make sure that it remains present in their hearts for ever....
As an starter for the Paradigm fest coming up in a fortnight.... the
Ethnic day was planned by the students of 1st year in coordination with the lecturers....
And to make the day perfect we had a great support from our lecturers as well...
Our Principal along with all the faculty where in ethnic dress...
The event started with the National Anthem... to make sure that we being different in cultures or from different
states are still together as INDIANS....
After this there where some mind-blowing dance performances and ...
Some challenging games....
Some beautiful songs.....
And at the end it was a ramp walk by the Lecturers....
From this you can imagine... if the starter was such a big blast..... what will the mega fest be.....

Walkathon 09 - After Week 2
The second week of Walkathon ended at 9:30 PM on 29th March.... It was a long long weekend.... so lot of time to work for Walkathon...
The volunteers gave 4 days of their time this week for Walkathon...
Inspite of the fact that it was the last week of the month.... & so called the month end.... when most of the people a stiff hands when its time to spend.... still when it comes to helping the needy... people in Bangalore have a good heart.... & they never hesitate to spend...
The volunteers where able to raise an amount of Rs. 65000.... Three cheers for the great job done...
With this contribution the total collection has reached Rs. 1,57,000...
This has increased the hopes and energy of the volunteers.... and they expect to get more the coming weeks....
There is another great news about the Walkathon 09 - it has a radio partner as well as a TV channel which will be covering the Walkathon 09.... Keep guessing... will let you all know the details in the next post...

walkathon: Week 2, Day 2
27th March, the day of Ugadi... as it was a holiday for most of the people in Bangalore... As well as for the volunteers of the college...
However, a group of our volunteers decided to use the day for the noble cause of Walkathon... They decided to celebrate the festival working for the orphans who do not have sufficient to celebrate ...
They reached Safina Plaza at 2:00 PM... The day passed interacting with the people over there and sharing the thoughts... This went on with this till 8:00 PM....
At the end of the day they where able to raise a sum of Rs. 8125. They where happy that they where able to do some productive work for the deprived....
This has boosted their moral and they are looking forward for the next 2 days....
On behalf of all the students volunteers of our college, I would like to thank all the people who have a real kind and thoughtful heart for the others who do not have the required and are lacking love and affection every kid requires at this phase of the life...

Walkathon - The Second Week
After the long week of college/work, its a weekend once again. Added to this its three days of off at a stretch - as its Ugadi today...
As it was a holiday today, the student volunteers decided to dedicate their time on 26th March after college for the noble cause - Walkathon....
The classes for the day finished at 5:00 PM. Soon after that the students organized themselves in small groups and where ready to go. Every one was excited and energetic remembering the massive success of the Week - 1 of Walkathon... Everyone started for their designated destinations...
Thus, the second week of Walkathon started on 26th March (Thursday) at 6:30 PM....
As its was already evening the time was less... but the enthusiasm of the volunteers where high...
The concluded for the day about 9:30 PM... In just a short span of 3 hours they where able to collect a sum of Rs. 11,000... This marked the end of the day...
With the sweet memories of the incidences that took place that day, all the students volunteers returned back to their homes... They returned to their homes with the plans to return again with new energy, meet new people and make new FRIENDS....

The First week of Walkathon
The students have started to work for the Walkathon from 21st March.
They divided themselves in groups and went to all the major shopping points across Bangalore.
They interacted with many people in order to spread the word, bring social awareness and collect funds which will be used to help the orphans of "Sri Krishna Anatha Shishu Nivas"...
This a picture of the volunteers who went to Landmark (Forum Mall).
To mark the intensive level of response to from the public, the volunteers who where able to collect a sum of Rs. 92,000 in just two days from all points across Bangalore....
This has made the volunteers more enthusiastic on moving forward and arranging as much amount as possible to help the orphans....
They will be spending there week-ends and holidays working for this social cause...
It is nice to see that there are still people with kind hearts...
